"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you to the very end of the age.'" Matthew 28:18-20

I'm Ready to Be Baptized

Do you have questions about baptism?

What Is the Meaning of Baptism?

  • The act of baptism is a public declaration of your commitment to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. This is your way of sharing with everyone that you have received the Spirit within you and God asks you to share this with other believers.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come; the old has gone, the new is here! 2 Corinthians 5:17

  • Baptism is a representation of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection. This is the individual experience with Christ Jesus that you get to share with Him being buried for your transgressions, cleansed and then being raised into a new life in Him.

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures. 1 Corinthians 15:3-4

“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:4

Why Should I Be Baptized?

  • Jesus, despite being without sin, received the sacrament of baptism as a demonstration to all people of his obedience to His heavenly Father. By following Jesus' example, we are presented with a pathway to obedience.

Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

  • Baptism unites all believers in the “Body of Christ.”

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink. 1 Corinthians 12:12-13

When Should I Be Baptized?

  • As soon as you have believed in Christ, we encourage you to be baptized!

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
